African American Romantic Comedy FAIRGAME Set To Be Released

Ventura Entertainment will release the romantic comedy FAIRGAME in stores nationwide beginning Tuesday, January 10TH, 2006. FAIRGAME stars Kellita Smith (The Bernie Mac Show), Christopher B. Duncan (The Jamie Foxx Show, Soul Food,), Gina Torres (The Matrix Reloaded), Terri Vaughn (The Steve Harvey Show, All of Us), Michael Jace (The Shield), Michael Whaley (CSI Miami, Profiler) and radio personality and actress Mother Love.

Written and directed by Michael Whaley, FAIR GAME is a romantic comedy about a couple who are meant for each other, though they continue to encounter circumstances that keep them apart. Gina Torres stars as Stacey Bennett, a high-powered school administrator on the fast track to a major job promotion and career success. When she and a young man on her job (Michael Whaley) have a passionate fling, he becomes smitten with her and begins pursuing a relationship even though she rejects his advances. He will stop at nothing to prove his love for her.

Anticipating the January 10th release of FAIR GAME, filmmaker Michael Whaley says, “We’re thrilled that Fair Game is coming out soon on DVD and that audiences around the country will finally get a chance to see it and enjoy it.” Whaley began shooting the film in Los Angeles in 2001, the day before 9/11 and says the obvious halt of production following the tragedy and subsequent challenges in connection with the independent filmmaking process made the journey to completion a long and arduous one.

“There were many obstacles that tested our faith many times but we kept moving forward and because we had such a great cast who agreed to come back and shoot the film even with their busy schedules, we finished FAIR GAME and are really proud of it,” Whaley states.
