Sen. Barack Obama is closer than ever to claiming the Democratic nomination after a blowout win in North Carolina and a narrow loss in Indiana on Tuesday. Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton's weak showing badly dented her case for superdelegates to throw the contest her way.
