“I love you, oh my God, you my idol!” Ashley Smellie, a Long Island high school student, gushed as the young Brooklyn rapper Lil Mama emerged from a tour bus outside of a club in Queens last week. It was near midnight, and Lil Mama had been scheduled to perform for an audience of mostly teenage girls.
