Superbowl 2007 ads had everything one could expect...creativity, suprises, and great concepts. This year many advertisers also chose to highlight diversity in their imagery acknowledging both Black History Month and the fact that the game itself was historical in its own right since two African Americans were at the helm of both teams.
UrbanMecca.com focuses in on those superbowl ads that celebrated diversity and inclusion in its advertising round up...
#6 T-Mobile My Favs
While not a new commercial. The T-Mobile spot featuring Dwayne Wade and Charles Barkley is very funny. I believe T-Mobile chose this specific commercial to resonate mostly with African American viewers (although I also think the spot has cross over appeal due tot he legend of both sports superstars).

#5 Lionsgate Pride Movie
I was suprised to see a black casted movie advertised on the Superbowl. This goes either a long way in the studio's belief about the audience or their endorsement of Terrence Howard. The movie looked like your typical "overcoming the odds" story that looks at where we've been as a nation and where we are going. These unsung stories still have a strong place on the big screen however. Bravo on this spot Lionsgate!!

(Please note that some people obviously did not like this spot...the comments string on youtube are extremely harsh...you've been warned)
#4 Budweiser: Strategy
Jay Z does it again!! This is a great spot which shows how much of a business man the rapper has become. In this spot we find Jay playing a futuristic game of football against a formidable opponent. To me, this commercial is a testament of just how big and well respected hip hop culture has become.

#3 Coca Cola: Celebrate Black History
Coca Cola's spot on Black History isn't new but they edited it at the very end to commemerate that Super Bowl day was actually a page in Black History. Hats off to coke for resurrecting this spot.

#2 Chevy Singers
This well crafted spot featured a multitude of well known faces from the sports and music world singing about their Chevy vehicles. Mary J Blige and hip hop recording artist T.I. were both featured in the ad which receives our number two spot for Chevy acknowledging the many different types of car owners there are out there (and how they roll).

#1 Frito Lay: Fans
Probably the most powerful black targeted commercial that has been seen in recent times. The Frito Lay 'Fans' spot receives our number one vote. In this spot, Frito Lay acknowledges how special Super Bowl Sunday is for American history. It shows images of African American fans of all ages watching the game. The commercial starts to build more and more with a sense of pride the viewers have in the achievement of the two coaches (being the first two African American coaches in a Superbowl game). The spot ends with a grandfather looking down at his grandson in a way of satisfaction that the world is changing. He knows that his grandson has many more doors open to him than he had as a youth. His eyes said it all in a very powerful way. Bravo to this actor and bravo to Frito Lay and their agency for producing this well resonating spot. Our email box was flooded from members who loved this commercial.
